LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

GREETINGS Gearphorians! Let me be

the first to you welcome to Volume 3,

Number 4. The road this issue traveled

was a bumpy one, fraught with a double

dose of convention hijinks, a raft of re-

schedulings and one full-blown case of

the dreaded NAMMthrax.

Thankfully, we pulled through while

pulling together a pretty stellar maga-

zine. We made our annual trek to sunny

California to bring you the latest and

greatest in all things guitar from the

2015 edition of the NAMM show.

Our

#coverage

is a photo-tastic tribute

to all of the cool gear we were able

to unearth across the entire Anaheim

Convention Center... and beyond. Also,

be sure to look for our ‘Top Gear’ sym-

bol, highlighting some of our personal

favorites from the show.

We also made a brief and very chilly

trip up to New York to visit the annual

Toy Fair. We bring you a bit of what

that buyers-only show had in the way

of MI-related offerings as well as some

samplings of music-related pop culture

goodies from companies like NECA,

Titan Vinyl and BifBangPow!

Our interview duo this issue is as

diverse as they are cool. Jon Hudson has

been Faith No More’s guitarist for over

20 years, but has only made two records

with the band -- 1997’s Album Of The

Year and the upcoming Sol Invictus.

We spoke with Jon about his relation-

ship with his gear, the classic Faith No

More material and some thoughts on the

upcoming release.

Doubling up Hudson’s tenure, guitar-

ist Rich Williams and his band Kansas

just celebrated 40 years as a group

in 2014. In honor of that milestone,

the band has a documentary, Miracles

Out Of Nowhere, due out this month

(March). Our Alison Richter spoke with

Rich about the longevity of the group,

the upcoming film and his current gear

of choice.

Gear reviews this issue include an ex-

clusive look at a guitar build from luthier

Tom Lyons, as well as pedals from Outlaw

Effects, Big Ear N.Y.C. and Mr. Black.

All of this, plus a terrific spread of

gear columns, album reviews and a

new Chairmen of the Boards giveaway!

Excited? We sure are. So don’t wait...

dig in!

Happy reading...
